"I am writing to thank you guys for making an overwhelming situation (college for 3) manageable and affordable. (…) I do believe we are going to make it through the college years without breaking the bank or losing our minds! Thanks to all at CPS!"
Carolyn G.
Attending college has been described by many as one of the most influential times in a young person’s life. That being said, parents of college bound students should know that the average four year college education could cost between $90,513 and $181,025. If your student hopes to attend an Ivy League institution, that number could be north of $200,000 or more!

Coming up with such an enormous amount of money is a significant undertaking; one that should be carefully planned for and executed. If you are seeking help, whether it is financial or admissions related, then these FREE college planning workshops may be just what you have been looking for. Both parents and students will benefit from this workshop. Invite a friend if you’d like.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How your assets and income can count against you when applying for financial aid, and what you can do about it.
  • What it takes to position your student to be the best candidate for more gift aid (Free Money) and fewer loans.
  • Which assets are considered when the US Department of Education calculates your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) - which is the absolute minimum colleges will expect your family to pay for one year of school.
  • How preparing your financial aid applications the right way can maximize your financial assistance and minimize your out of pocket expenses.
  • How you can get ahead by developing a customized college plan for all of the college costs you will incur.
  • How to have the government pay a larger portion of your education expenses by legitimately increasing your tax deductions beyond the Hope Scholarship and the Lifetime Learning Credit.
  • How parents and students all too often focus on the "sticker price" of a college. With proper planning, going to a "more expensive" private university may actually end up costing less!

Because these are education in nature and meant to inform students and parents alike, there is nothing sold or even offered for sale at this workshop. Taught by one of our Professional College Planning Advisors, these workshops will help give you the tools you need to prepare for the road ahead and help you get on the Smart Track™ to success.
